“There has been no electricity for hours,” exclaimed Bright, “so I cannot do any housework, nor can I keep warm.”
This is, apparently, not an isolated incident, as Bright explained that residents usually have power outages and no water.
“Just this morning, there was no water pressure, so I had to do my laundry by hand and look how cold it is,” he said.
He did, however, say that later on during the day, the water pressure was back to normal.
According to Ekurhuleni Metro spokesman, Themba Gadebe, a mini substation blew up on Saturday and technicians were sent to the site to carry out repairs, with regards to the power cut.
“The substation is the reason for the power supply interruption in Selcourt,” said Gadebe.
