Three people were injured in an accident in Second Street, CBD on Thursday morning.

The driver of a black BMW X6 was driving in Second Street, approaching the intersection with Welgedacht Road opposite the Springs Fire Station and came to a halt at the red traffic light.

According to witnesses the driver of a black BMW, coming from Welgedacht Road, lost control of his vehicle and crushed into the X6.

High Care Emergency Ambulance Services paramedics treated the injured people on the scene.

Three people, aged 33, 34 and 36 years, were rushed to a nearby hospital for further treatment. EMPD officials were regulating the traffic until tow away trucks removed the two black BMWs.

Hendrik Buda, Far East Rand Hospital spokesman, confirms that the three patients were brought into the hospital for treatment.

One patient sustained minor injuries and was discharged yesterday after receiving treatment.

“The second patient suffered facial injuries and is admitted while the third patient had soft tissue injury on the right shoulder and was also discharged on Thursday after she was seen and treated for the injuries,” says Buda.
