Metro addresses power cuts

Various power cuts throughout Ekurhuleni suggest strain on the electricity network.

The Ekurhuleni Metro has deployed more standby personnel to respond to multiple power cuts.

According to the metro, the increased demand by residents to keep warm as the winter temperatures drop and using numerous heating sources, is placing pressure on the electricity network.

The metro has increased the number of personnel on standby to attend to the supply failures that are mainly caused by the high power demand during cold periods.

The additional personnel will be on standby throughout the winter season to ensure prompt response to supply interruptions.

Customers are encouraged to log any service interruptions through the municipal call centre on 086 054 3000 and ensure they receive a reference number for follow-up purposes.
