Robbers use scarf to blindfold victim

A domestic worker was cleaning the bathroom at 12.20pm, when she heard footsteps in the house.

The house was robbed in Strubenvale on Thursday.

“The domestic worker saw two suspects who told her not to scream,” says Capt Johannes Ramphora, Springs police spokesman.

The suspects took the woman to the main bedroom, where she claims a third suspect waited for them.

Ramphora says they allegedly tied her up and blinfolded her with scarves.

The suspects searched the house and took a computer, TV, two bicycles, a PlayStation, Wii console, hard drives, tablets, laptop, jewellery, an iPod and a portable radio.

Ramphora says the woman managed to remove the blindfold and noticed the suspects had left the house.

The stolen items are valued at approximately R90 000.

A case of house robbery was opened and the police are investigating the case.
