Police arrested a man for robbery with a weapon, on Sunday, at the Springs Taxi Rank in First Street, CBD, after he allegedly robbed a motorist of his cellphone.
The victim parked his vehicle on the corner of Second Street and Third Avenue and opened the window.

Capt Johannes Ramphora, Springs police spokesman, says it was 5.06am, when an unknown person reached through the open window, took his cellphone and ran away.
The victim chased the suspect towards the taxi rank where he noticed a police vehicle.

Ramphora says the victim reported the incident to the police, who searched for the suspect and found him.
He was arrested and taken to the police cells, where he will remain until his first court appearance.
