Power failure is being addressed
The metro and Eskom are working to restore power to parts of Springs currently without electricity.
The metro has released the following statement with regards a power failure gripping parts of Springs.
“The City of Ekurhuleni wishes to inform residents in Springs that the power supply affecting parts of the area is due to a fire that occurred during the early hours of this morning (Friday) at the Eskom substation.
Emergency Services have succeeded in extinguishing the fire.
Eskom technicians are currently on site carrying out investigations and assessing the severity of the damage before commencing with the repair works.
The estimated restoration time will be communicated after the damage assessment has been completed.
The affected areas include the following:
- Daggafontein;
- Nuffield;
- Selcourt;
- Selection Park;
- Struisbult and surrounding areas in Springs.
The City of Ekurhuleni apologises for the inconvenience.”
