The biker community came together to hand over the standing frame which they purchased for a three-year-old disabled boy
Local Springs resident Hennie Nel, handed over the standing frame which was purchased with the money from a recent fund-raiser, to three-year-old, Revan du Toit, who was born with microcephaly and epilepsy.
The hand-over took place at Hippo’s in Brakpan on Saturday.

Hennie, who rides for the biker club Sting, held a bikini biker wash day at The Vineyard in September to raise the R38 000 needed for the frame which will assist with the development of his bones and joints.
It will help him stand and avoid deformation of his bone structure.
Microcephaly is a rare medical condition where the brain and head are smaller than normal so although Revan is almost three years old, he still functions at a three-month-old level.
Revan’s mother and full-time carer Zandria Durand has made it her mission to spread awareness of the medical condition.

“Even though he is a special needs baby, he is my angel and I will love him until I can’t love anymore which will never happen,” says Zandria.
The goal of the trust is to help the family financially.
Revan needs to see a physio-, occupational-, and speech therapist at least once a week, a pediatrician every two to four months, and a pediatric neurologist twice per year.
He also has to go for a MRI and CT scan every six months.
