Fun and games on Tekkie Tax day
It was fun and games at Life Springs Parkland Hospital when the teams competed in various games on Tekkie Tax Day.
Tekkie Tax Day was celebrated with a lot of fun activities by Life Springs Parkland Hospital staff on Friday.
All the hospital unit teams were eager to participate in the different games organised by the marketing department.
Tertia Nieuwoudt, hospital manager, says they bought shoelaces, T-shirts and stickers in support of Vita Nova Centre in Daggafontein.
“To be part of a team they all had to pay tax,” she says.
When the events started at noon, the teams were eager to play ‘suck it up’, ping pong, balloon blow, coins stack and cookie face.
She explains the games were also planned to have fun at the work place.
The hospital supports Vita Nova on a regular basis and also decided to hand over non-perishable food at the end of the event.
The 15 teams were eager to show off their team spirit.
Tsakani Mathebula showed off her skills in blowing up a balloon and use the air to blow the paper glass off the table.
The cookie face event was enjoyed by all the participants who watched as a team member had to place the cookie on their forehead and, without using their hands, roll the cookie to their mouths and eat it.
This was an easy job for Renier Hattingh, who works at the hospital pharmacy.
“I enjoyed, not only the game, but also the cookies that I could eat,” he says.
Each winning team won pizzas and cold drink for their units.
Happy, the Tekkie Tax mascot (Marina Potgieter), arrived at 1pm to join in the fun.
“I love watching people having fun for a good cause,” says Happy.
