Business robbery in Bakerton ends in assault

Suspects target hair and beauty salon.

Springs police are looking for two suspects who not only took money from the owner of a hair and beauty salon but also from a client.

The incident occurred at 7.45pm at the Bakerton Plaza, corner of Plumbago Road and Honeysuckle Drive, Bakerton.

The salon owner says the duo entered the shop and headed straight to the owner.

SAPS spokesperson, Capt Johannes Ramphora says the suspects ordered the owner to hand over his cellphone and money.

The owner handed over R500 and his cellphone while a client handed over R350. At the time of the robbery, he had no cellphone with him.

Ramphora says the suspects, one armed with a small caliber firearm, kicked the client on his left upper leg.

Both suspects fled the scene in a dark coloured unknown 4×4 bakkie.

“We were informed of the robbery by the Bakerton CPF,” says Ramphora.
