An Eastvale woman was surprised to find someone at her house’s front door in Langeberg Street on Thursday.
She woke up to a noise at 3.30am and upon investigating found a suspect who forced the door open.
According to Capt Johannes Ramphora, Springs police spokesperson, the woman pushed the door to prevent the suspect from entering the house.
“She was scared and ran to her bedroom when the suspect threatened to shoot her through the door.
“However, the suspect caught up with her and pointed a firearm at her,” he says.
Two of the suspect’s accomplices also entered the house and took cellphones, a laptop and a TV set.
“They demanded money but it is not sure if the trio took cash before they fled the scene,” says Ramphora.
The front door of the house was badly damaged.
Police are investigating a case of house robbery.
