Pawsome boxes of love 2017

Boxes with donations should be delivered by November 25.

Like any other charity organisation, animal charity organisations also rely on donations and funding for survival to continue the good work that they do.

This year, the Rotary Club of Springs has initiated a Christmas Spirit Drive in aid of various animal beneficiaries they support.

President of the Rotary club, Siobheanne Landbserg, says they would like to collect as much food and other items as possible to assist these organisations heading into the festive season.

The festive season is notorious for being a particularly difficult time for animal charities; therefore, the Rotarians would love to be able to assist them in any way possible.

“We’ve come up with the Pawsome Boxes of Love initiative whereby individuals are encouraged to make up a box of goodies which will then be distributed to the organisations,” says Landsberg.

The boxes need to include two items of food, a blanket, a toy and something useful including shampoo, dip or food bowls.

Each box will be labelled so that the recipient can see who the gift is from and how much love was poured into putting the gift together.

“We’d like to encourage not only individuals but businesses within Springs to please assist us so we can reach our goal,” says Landsberg.

Rotarians will acknowledge all contributions received on their social media pages, in their monthly newsletter and in the Addie.

Boxes need to be delivered by November 25, between 9am and 2pm at the Scouts Hall in Colliery Road, Lodeyko.

She urges donors who are unable to make it to this event, to contact her to make the necessary arrangements.

“Those who cannot make up a box and would prefer to donate food items, should note that we will happily accept the donations and hand the box over for you,” says Landsberg
