Fun at Day with the Elderly Parents

Senior citizens took part in several entertaining events.

The Bhairavi Sungum of Springs hosted their 27th annual Day with the Elderly Parents on Sunday.

The event was well attended with over 130 senior citizens of all races making their way to the Bakerton Community Centre.

Chairman of the Bhairavi Sungum, Kesavan Pillay, says the event started with a scrumptious lunch which suited their dietary preferences.

“Entertainment was presented by a local group of musicians called Laher and Neighbors as well as special guest artist Kamini Katha.

Most senior citizens took part in the talent contest, fancy dress as well as the dance and game of musical chairs.

The musical chairs game was won by 85-year-old Vijimmal Reddy, who was quite impressed with the generosity of the other participants.

This was followed by tea and cakes and hot chilly bites.

The day’s challenging event concluded with each and every parent receiving a gift.

“This event would not have been possible without the financial support afforded by our sponsors.

Our heartfelt gratitude and thanks to all our sponsors,” says Pillay.
