After a woman, her husband and three employees arrived at home at 10.30pm, she went to the bathroom.
According to Springs police spokesperson Capt Johannes Ramphora the man was in the lounge when three unknown men, all armed with firearms, entered the house.
The woman remained in the bathroom and one of their employees ran to the main bedroom and locked the security door.
“The man pressed the panic button and when the alarm went off, the armed trio ran away,” says Ramphora.
One of the employees sustained a minor injury to the side of his head when he was assaulted by one of the armed men.
Police are investigating a case of attempted house robbery.
