Making pancakes to raise funds for Springs Girls’ High School

A local supermarket in the Springs Mall held a pancake fundraiser for the Springs Girls’ High School on Saturday.

Sharm Singh, fresh foods manager at the store was the driving force behind the fundraiser.

“My daughter Neha also just started Grade Eight at the school,” she says.

Bev Mitchell and Christa Louw, staff members at the Springs Girls’ High School accompanied a few Grade Eight and 11 girls on Saturday as they set up a stall outside the supermarket’s entrance and started making pancakes to sell to passing shoppers.

Christa says the funds raised from the selling of pancakes will be allocated to the 2019 matric farewell.

Staff members from the supermarket also helped make pancakes until 3pm.
