The foundation also has a mobile library as well as a programme that helps look after people in old age homes.

The hefty donation is invaluable for the foundation, which is solely dependent on the generosity of the public and fund-raising through gift wrapping.

“It means a lot to us to get this donation,” says Daleen Havenga from Edu-Care.

“It helps us immensely, and the money will be used for stationery, school uniforms, books and bags.”

The foundation mostly works with children in the foundation phase, and has been doing this for eight years.

They work in Gauteng, North West and KwaZulu-Natal.

“We just keep going with prayer, and the generosity of people is what has enabled us to keep doing what we do,” says Havenga.

The foundation is appealing to the public for donations of non-perishable food, books and clothing.

Those who wish to donate can drop their donations off at centre management at the Springs Mall or call 078 369 7951 to arrange for collection.
