Two men were asleep in the back room of a house when they heard a noise outside at 4.30am in Bakerton.
Capt Johannes Ramphora says the duo went to check what caused the noise and was confronted by a suspect who pointed a firearm at them and made them lie on the ground.
“Three other suspects arrived and took the two men to a black BMW parked in the driveway and shoved them in the trunk of the car,” he says.
They were dropped off on the N12 near Delmas and they then managed to get a lift to the Springs Police Station.

The men were taken back home by a sector vehicle and the premises were searched.
The rear sliding door of the dining room and security gate of the main house was forced open.
Electrical equipment, bedding and other items were taken.
“The two men are caretakers of the house as the owner lives in Kenya and only visits every few months,” says Ramphora.
