Metro says grass-cutting season only started in November

The metro has now stated that the park was cleaned last week and the weeds were removed from the curbs, as well as the litter.

Metro spokesperson Themba Gadebe says: “The park is maintained on a monthly basis as per our grass-cutting schedule and our grass-cutting season has only commenced now in November.

“Due to tight management of financial resources, grass cutting at parks, public open spaces and main roads is done once a month.

“Furthermore, it should be noted that we do not cut grass during the winter season.”
