Complainant allegedly told to call security company by police

“It felt like I was a nuisance to him,” says the complainant.

A complainant was shocked when he reported a crime to a member of the Springs police and was allegedly told by the officer, “Get ADT to arrest the guy and bring him to the police station”.

The complainant says his security system caught a suspect allegedly tampering with the street lights on his street.

“We have 11 street lights on our streets, and seven have had their cables stolen.

“So when I saw it on my CCTV footage, I showed it to the officer and was shocked by what I was told.

“It felt like I was a nuisance to him,” says the complainant.

The complainant says nothing has been done since.

The Springs police did not respond in time for publication.
