Police arrest three for illegal guns

Upon arriving at the house in King Street, the EMPD officer along SAPS officers searched the house and found a white plastic bag with three pistols in it under the bed.

An EMPD officer arrested three suspects for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition last Friday morning.

The arrest comes after the officer received information that guns were moved from a house in Ernest Street to King Street after the residents were arrested.

Upon arriving at the house in King Street, the EMPD officer, along with SAPS officers searched the house and found a white plastic bag with three pistols in it under the bed.

These were a 9mm Luger with one magazine, four live ammunition, Berreta 6.35 with five live ammunition, 9mm Agus with one magazine and five live ammunition.

All three firearms were black and white.

It is alleged that those firearms are being used for illegal mining operations at Putfontein off-ramp mine.
