Dedicated doctor remembered

The doctor's unique story telling talent was the delight of his friends and family.

Beloved doctor, father and husband, Dr Johann Coetzee died last Wednesday at the age of 74.

Dr Coetzee had worked as a general practitioner for 49 years, the last 29 years of which were spent at Medicross health-care centre in Springs.

He left an indelible mark on everyone he worked with and will be remembered fondly for his dedication to his work.

General manager at Medicross Salome Liebenberg says: “On behalf of Medicross management and staff, I wish to express our deepest condolences to Dr Coetzee’s family during this most difficult time.

“We will remember Dr Coetzee for the indelible mark he has made as a compassionate, skilful and caring doctor who touched the lives of many people in the community.

“He was highly respected and much loved by his colleagues and patients, as well as the staff and management of Medicross Springs where he practised for the last 29 years.”

Dr Coetzee was a passionate and talented man.

In addition to maintaining his respected practice, Dr Coetzee lived an active lifestyle, playing squash and participating in athletics.

He also had a passion for sports cars and deep sea fishing.

The doctor’s unique story telling talent was the delight of his friends and family.

Dr Coetzee is survived by his wife, Pauline, two daughters, Michelle van der Walt and Christy Fowlds, as well as his grandchildren.
