Clothing store robbed after delivery

Four suspects entered the shop just after a courier van delivered seven cellphones.

A clothing store at the The Avenue Shopping Centre was robbed just after taking delivery on seven cellphones on Monday, says Springs police spokesperson Capt Johannes Ramphora.

Four suspects entered the shop just after a courier van delivered seven cellphones.

One suspect pretended to be a customer, took a T-shit and asked for the fitting room.

One of the shop employees was suspicious and confronted him.

The second suspect informed her it was a robbery and took the box that had the cellphones in.

A security guard came into the shop and noticed something was going on.

The security guard and the store employee at the till were taken to the fitting room by the suspects, where they were made to lay on the floor.

It was at that stage the employees realised the four men were working together.

The suspects also took the cellphones in the safe and fled the shop.

The centre has CCTV footage, which the investigating officer will receive.
