We are still available
However, while we may not be at our desks, we will still be hard at work to bring you all the news from Springs and will be relying on you, now more than ever, to keep us apprised of what is happening in your neck of the woods.
Like the rest of the country, Caxton Local Media East and South has had its staff working from home until the lockdown ends on April 16.
However, while we may not be at our desks, we will still be hard at work to bring you all the news from Springs and will be relying on you, now more than ever, to keep us apprised of what is happening in your neck of the woods.
We are also all still contactable so you will still be able to chat to a journalist and tell them your story.
If you have a story to share with us, please feel free to reach out on Facebook, email or via a phone call.
You can speak to us on our Facebook pages – @Springs Advertiser and @African Reporter, via email or telephone as listed below.
If you would like to practise social distancing while sharing your story, we invite you to email us the story, with a photo or two, and the journalist handling your story will be in contact with any further questions which may need answering.
If you would like to meet with a journalist, please contact them directly.
Please bear the following in mind:
• Stories should include details of who did what, when, where, how and why- what we like to call the six magic elements of any good news story. Tell us as much as you can about the event so we can give the story the exposure it deserves.
• Please share your good news stories as well as those troubling you.
• Each story needs a photo, if possible, which should always have a person/people in it.
• Photos should be a minimum of 1Mb and should not have been taken with or shared via WhatsApp as this degrades the quality, making it difficult to use in the newspaper.
• We love candid photos taken around Springs showing the beauty of the town and the diversity of our residents’ interests.
• Tell us who is in your photo. We need the first and last name of everyone in the photo.
• Please limit group photos to six or fewer people if possible.
