CPF and police feed the needy

Springs CPF is looking out for the elderly.

The Springs Sector One CPF donated food packages to elderly residents on Thursday.

The CPF partnered up with The Holiday Inn Roadhouse who helped with preparing the meals which consisted of a vegetable package, soup and vetkoek.

Affinity Health also offered their help to make the donation possible.

The Springs police kindly offered use of their vehicles to help deliver the packages.

These packages were delivered to elderly residents living in municipal housing complexes such as Molendam and Markville.

Chairperson of Springs Sector One Petro Oosthuizen, says: ”We are so glad that we have been given the opportunity to help those in need in our community.

“We saw that our elderly are some of the most at risk during these times and realised that we need to reach out to them as soon as possible.”

Oosthuizen says that the CPF will be donating food packages once every week on either a Thursday or Friday for the duration of lockdown.
