Donation helps food bank to continue growing

This is part of a continued effort to grow and maintain the food bank on the premises.

In an ongoing effort to feed the needy people of Springs, a company donated two trucks of food to the Ekurhuleni Food Bank, in Springs, on Monday.

This is part of a continued effort to grow and maintain the food bank on the premises.

Those in need of food can register at the market via telephone or email where the supplies are processed and packaged.

These packages are then personally delivered to recipients.

According to mayor Mzwandile Masina this was one of the largest donations the food bank has received.

The donation included many packages of mielie meal, baked beans and pilchards.

Masina says: “It is important the people of Ekurhuleni acknowledge the efforts of the company.

“Without their help the food bank would not be sustained.

“So far, more than R7-million worth of supplies has been donated.

“I am excited to see what the future holds for the food bank, and I am confident more people in the community will stand up to help.”
