Groenewalds inseparable since 1959

61 years and still going strong!

On June 13, Piet and Silla Groenewald celebrated 61 years of marriage.

Their grandson, Xanthe Groenewald, says the two are attached to the hip and do absolutely everything together.

Piet is best friends with her brothers as well.

The couple have lived in Springs since 1933 and still live in the same house.

Together, the couple have five children, 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

The Groenewalds are a proud sporting family, with all their sons being keen boxers who frequent the Springs Boxing Club regularly.

Piet is well known in the metal and steel industry and worked for many years.

The couple are very supportive of each other, with Silla helping Piet with his metal work, and Piet chipping in to help Silla with her baking.
