Man's car stolen as he got home

A 60-year-old man was hijacked in the driveway of his Selcourt home last Saturday evening. The incident took place in Sebakwe Street. Springs police spokesperson Amanda Greybe explained the victim parked his car and was walking towards the gate to close it when he was confronted by a man armed with a gun.

The gunman climbed into the victim’s vehicle and drove off. He headed towards Wit Road, with two other vehicles following him. In addition to the car, the victim’s golf cart, two golf clubs and his cellphone were taken. The value of the stolen items is approximately R845 000.
