Selcourt’s water issues have been resolved.
This is according to the City of Ekurhuleni and in response to an article that was featured in the Advertiser’s November 5 edition Residents at their wits’ end, in which it was reported how residents in Selcourt have been plagued by water problems in recent months.

Residents complained about suffering constant water cuts and low pressure.
Nhlanhla Cebekhulu, Ekurhuleni’s divisional head of communication and media relations, said they were aware of the problem and that it had been resolved and was being monitored constantly.

“The problem was due to the increase in the demand on the system.
“We were feeding the areas through a bypass as we had some technical challenges at the booster pump station.
“The problem is not linked to the new reservoir, and the new reservoir will actually help alleviate challenges and will allow us as a City to have sufficient storage capacity once completed,” said Cebekhulu.
