Argument gets heated

According to Springs police spokesperson Capt Johannes Ramphora, the fire was the result of an altercation between two homeless men.

Emergency services responded to a house fire in Geduld on Monday afternoon.
The house, which is situated next to the Geduld Cemetery, has in recent years become a haven for homeless people.
Many have complained about the alleged illicit activities taking place on the property.
According to Springs police spokesperson Capt Johannes Ramphora, the fire was a result of an altercation between two homeless men.

One of the angered men allegedly set the house on fire before fleeing the scene.
Fearing damage to their property the Springs Forensic Pathology Services, which is adjacent to the house, contacted the fire department and firefighters arrived just in time to prevent the blaze from damaging the cemetery and surrounding properties.
Ramphora confirmed an investigation into the incident is underway.
