Customers urged to use electricity sparingly

Residents are urged to continuously use electricity sparingly to help reduce the risk of load-shedding.

The electricity power supply remains constrained with the constant risk of load-shedding until September as communicated by Eskom earlier in the week.
The City of Ekurhuleni will therefore apply load-shedding in accordance with the available supply from the electricity provider.
Customers are requested to follow the load-shedding schedule available on the City’s website at www.ekurhuleni.gov.za.

Furthermore, to help mitigate the impact of the strain on the power grid, customers are advised to apply the below energy saving tips.
• Turn off unnecessary lights.
• Use natural light.
• Take shorter showers.
• Turn the water off when shaving, washing hands or brushing hands.
• Unplug unused electronics.
• Switch off outside lights during the day.

Customers are requested to follow the load-shedding schedule available on the City’s website at www.ekurhuleni.gov.za
