A raised manhole cover in Fryer Road, Casseldale, is causing problems for motorists.
The cover is not level with the road, and motorists have resorted to driving in the lane for oncoming traffic just to avoid the manhole.

Senaise Moloko was driving on the road and could not avoid the cover as there was a truck in the other lane.
“I tried to avoid it with the front tyres but it caught the rear tyre.
“At night it’s really dangerous because we can’t see it.
“This work was obviously done by a contractor. How did the metro approve this?
“This cover is meant to be level with the road,” said Moloko.
Moloko believes the situation is dangerous for everyone and worries about the safety of those driving on Fryer Road, especially women at night.
