AfriForum Springs fills potholes
The move is part of the organisation’s nationwide project to repair infrastructure.
On Saturday, the AfriForum branch in Springs filled potholes in various streets in town.
The move is part of the organisation’s nationwide project to repair infrastructure.
“Although potholes are a huge problem in this neighbourhood, the branch decided to be less dependent on the government and rather become self-sufficient.
“Numerous people then helped to fill potholes,” said Dewet Ungerer, AfriForum’s district coordinator for the East Rand.

The group worked on Kite Street in Daggafontein, the corner of Protea and Madeliefie Street, Anemoon Avenue in Edelweiss, Van Graan Road and Mentz Street in Casseldale, and 7th Avenue in Geduld.
Cornel Swart, chairperson of the AfriForum branch in Springs, said: “It was hard work but AfriForum performs this kind of projects for the community.
“We do this because our town is deteriorating.
“We can’t fill every hole but we will do what we can.
“We stopped talking long ago and started doing.”
