Resident rolls up her sleeves to do municipality’s work

One woman has taken it upon herself to restore pride to the area around Presidentia.
Maria Coomb was seen cutting the grass around the complex on Thursday afternoon.
Coomb cuts the grass once a week out of her pocket.
In addition to cutting the grass, she also removed some fallen tree branches from the road and sidewalk.

“The municipality doesn’t clean the area, so we have to start doing it ourselves. I like the people here and we should be proud of our neighbourhood,” said Coomb.
Since 2019, Presidentia residents have complained about the long grass that surrounds the complex. Many believe the long grass provides a hiding place for thieves.
