SAPS spreads awareness and warmth

Springs SAPS station commander Brig Thembeka Gwebushe applauded the police and the initiative to help the disadvantaged community.

Springs SAPS, in partnership with Springs patrollers and Past Andre de Klerk, visited Hollywood informal settlement on Saturday to raise awareness about gender-based violence (GBV).

“The aim is to educate the community on how to respond to GBV and how to identify victims in their communities,” explained Capt Johannes Ramphora from the Springs SAPS.

“The community was thrilled by the presence of the police and pastor. They embraced us by saying they no longer feel neglected.”

The group also provided meals and donated 300 blankets to the community.

“We acknowledge the concerns of the community and commit to working with them to revive their CPF structures,” said Ramphora.
“We want to build a good relationship.”
