Elderly woman dies in a fire
There was nothing neighbours could do to help the victim.
The Springs police have opened an inquest after a 52-year-old woman died in a fire at the Kwa-Zenzele informal settlement last Monday evening.
It is alleged that community members heard the voice of a boy shouting for help, saying the house at KZC 0033 was on fire.
When neighbours rushed to the scene, they found the house on fire and broke down the door to gain entry to the house.
They found a burned woman inside. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
