Home Affairs leaves customers with no answers

"It's unacceptable and people here are getting very frustrated."

On Wednesday morning dozens of frustrated residents have been queuing up outside the local Home Affairs offices that have yet to open its doors.
The offices are supposed to open at 08:00, but by 09:00 the doors remained shut.
Two employees briefly came out and told customers their systems are offline and they will only be able to see 20 people at a time once they do open their doors.

Daveyton resident Constance Jere had been waiting in the queue since 05:00.
“I am here to get my unabridged birth certificate. I took the day off from work to do this only to find their offices are closed.
“If they only see 20 people at a time, they won’t even be able to help half the people that are already waiting outside.
“It’s unacceptable and people here are getting very frustrated,” said Jere.
Jere said the employees told her they are waiting for government to give them further instruction before they open their doors.
Comment from Home Affairs will be published once it has been received.
