Faint road markings pose a danger

Most of these problems are due to the poor state of the road markings in the area, especially near the Springs Civic Centre.

WO Norman Sibanyoni claimed he has encountered a few challenges driving on South Main Reef Road.
He believes most of these problems are due to the poor state of the road markings in the area, especially near the Springs Civic Centre.
“It is challenging to drive and stay in your lane if you can’t see the lines.
“I see a lot of motorists overlapping, and it is just dangerous,” said Sibanyoni.

When asked about when last the road markings on South Main Reef were painted, Zweli Dlamini, spokesperson for the City of Ekurhuleni, stated the markings would have been painted approximately between six and 12 months ago.
“The maintenance depends on vehicle quantities,” he added.
Motorists and pedestrians are encouraged to report any road infrastructure concerns to the City’s call centre on 086 054 3000.
