Charles Arnesen, Freedom Front Plus, Ward 74.
Arnesen, an FF Plus activist, has been a resident of Ekurhuleni for the past 30 years.
He is a member of AfriForum and holds a managerial position at a company. He is convinced that the FF Plus can make a difference in the upcoming local government elections by demanding that routine maintenance must be conducted on infrastructure.
Ward 74 residents are frequently affected by water and electricity problems.
“The financial crisis in which the Ekurhuleni Metro finds itself can certainly not be blamed on the global economy nor Covid-19 alone.
“Instead, the real causes include years of financial mismanagement, corruption, self-enrichment, misguided priorities and the squandering of funds.
“There is an utter lack of fiscal discipline on a local government level.”
In the upcoming elections, residents must join Charles and take a stand against the ANC to restore discipline to the metro council.
Ward councillor candidates were invited to submit photographs and write-ups. Some candidates had not submitted information as requested.
