Training Ship Springs hold its Annual Recruitment Day
Making new friends and having serious fun while putting their spare time to good use, Sea Cadets learn about South Africa’s different cultures and become leaders amongst their peers.
The Sea Cadets of Training Ship Springs will be holding their Annual Recruitment Day on January 29 at the Springs Catholic Church Hall in Derby Avenue, Springs Extension, from 10:00 to 13:00.
TS Springs offers activities such as seamanship, sailing, rowing, catering, engineering, communications and first aid to teenage boys and girls of all races, languages and cultures.
Making new friends and having serious fun while putting their spare time to good use, Sea Cadets learn about South Africa’s different cultures and become leaders amongst their peers.
By joining the South African Sea Cadets, they learn about the eight ideals strived for, namely honesty, loyalty, morality, discipline, leadership, team work, respect and integrity.

Entry requirements
Boys and girls of all races, languages and cultures aged 12 to 15 (Grade Seven to Nine) able to speak and understand English, able to afford and commit to monthly subs of R130 and willing to commit to weekly attendance as far as possible.
You need to bring along a copy of your birth certificate, casual clothes (such as jeans and a T-shirt), contact details of parents/guardians (name, cellphone number, email address) and a black pen.
Covid-19 rules apply. No mask, no entry.
Parents are welcome to join their children for the morning, and watch the demonstrations and selection process, ask questions and get excited about Sea Cadets as well. Refreshments and snacks will be available from the tuck shop at nominal prices.
