EMPD tip of the week
The EMPD conducts roadblocks to check for outstanding fines or warrants of arrest.
The EMPD reminds motorists, proxies and liable vehicle owners to check if they have outstanding written notices/traffic fines, which could result in warrants of arrest. Sporadically, the EMPD sets up roadblocks on public roads, targeting motorists who have warrants issued for their arrest for failing to pay traffic fines and disrespecting the courts (contempt of court) by not appearing to contest the fines/penalties.
During the roadblock, motorists with outstanding fines are made aware of them and must pay at the roadblock or request a relative to bring in the outstanding money.

To avoid ending up behind bars, visit any EMPD precinct during weekdays (08:00-15:30), submit your ID number to the operator or your vehicle’s registration number to check for outstanding fines.
