Young footballers kitted out thanks to local businesses

Ward 74 councillor Thulani Simelane and Andre Niebuhr from a local meat company gathered last Wednesday to donate soccer kits to local soccer team Naledi FC.
Niebuhr said donating the kit brings them great pleasure and they vow to continue helping.

“We were approached by the councillor and asked if there is a way we could assist. It is not a lot, but we just want to do what we can. We want to motivate them to do better,” said Niebuhr.
Simelane said residents from Never Never informal settlement play soccer every weekend, and they asked if they could be assisted with kit donations.

“I approached the local company and they responded positively with a full kit. This is a good way of getting the players off the streets or involved in criminal activities or drug abuse. I thank all those who organised this kit for them,” he said.

“Having support from local businesses makes us happy. We represent Springs and want to work hard by winning games. We are grateful for the support and hope they do more for other youth in Springs,” he said.
