Dancers rake in medals

The event was held at Elspark High School in Germiston.

Dance Directions participated in the Revolution Provincial Dance Championship on April 29.

“I have to say out of the bottom of my heart that I am super proud of all my dancers.
“Thank you all for all your hard work and making me and all parents proud,” said Mariska Wolmarans, teacher and owner of Dance Directions.

The dancers scooped 17 medals in the competition:
• Donne de Beer: gold in Bollywood novice
• Elizma van Heerden: gold in Bollywood, and Jazz novice.
• Danja Singleton: silver for Contemporary novice.
• Marie Pepler: gold in Bollywood novice.
• Kayla du Preez: gold for Hip hop, and Disco.
• Jacoline van Staden: gold and silver for Paso Doble, and Jive advance.
• Dane Pretorius: silver for Disco and Contemporary novice.
• Cayleigh Duvenage: gold for Jazz novice.
• Charlotte van Heerden: gold in Disco, and Bollywood intermediate.
• Hope Bailey: gold in Contemporary, and Jazz intermediate.
• Kaylee Oberholster, gold in Disco, and a diploma.
