R80 000 donation boosts East Rand Palliative Care

East Rand Palliative Care has received a welcome donation from Mann+Hummel as the organisation marks 40 years of providing care and support to patients in need.

East Rand Palliative Care (ERPC) received a cheque for R80 000 from Kempton Park based Mann+Hummel, a leader in the filtration industry.

Managing director Cavin Hearne and HR business partner Nokubonga Khumalo attended the handover at ERPC’s Kemston Avenue offices on October 31.

Khumalo said they are committed to making donations to organisations to continue with their valuable work.

“With October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we wanted to donate to an organisation that renders quality care to cancer patients.”

ERPC chairperson Con Roux welcomed the contribution.

“This year we celebrate our 40th anniversary. The donation is not only a gesture; it is an investment in our ongoing work.”

Roux said securing donations had become increasingly challenging, with the organisation relying on different sources of income and reassured donors and members of the public that ERPC values transparency.

Both parties expressed hope that the donation would mark the beginning of a lasting relationship.
