ELCSA brings hope and donations to Impumelelo

Members of the Prayer Men's League give back to those in need.

Kwa-Thema based Evangelical Lutheran Church in South Africa visited the Impumelelo Self Help Centre for Quadriplegics on May 26 to donate food parcels.
Prayer Men’s League representative Ephraim Sekhoela said they have been looking forward to visiting the centre.
“As Prayer Men’s League, we recently started the initiative for organisations in need. It is our first time at Impumelelo and we were touched by some of the stories of how some people at the centre ended up in wheelchairs,” said Sekhoela.
He said the purpose of the visit was also to deliver prayers and the Word of God.

“We are here to interact and let them know that we are here for them and will always be supportive.
“The plan now is to close gaps of what the needs are. Since it is winter, we are planning to come back to donate blankets. We also want to bring warm pyjamas,” he said.
They intend to go to all the homes around Springs and other areas to assist with what is necessary.
“We plan to bring awareness to communities that we are here to help all with the needs that are required. We are visible and we want them to know that they are in our prayers,” said Sekhoela.
Joseph Macheu and the rest of the team at Impumelelo gave thanks to the church.
“We are happy that we are considered, especially in these times. We have been seeking sponsorship and this is a good start. We hope it doesn’t end here but that the relationship continues,” said Macheu.
