Springs Rugby Club continues to dominate

Victorious weekend of rugby.

Springs Rugby Club played against Vereeniging on June 4 at Springs Olympia Park. The Springs U21 side beat their opponents 33-22.
Wilca Ras, Franco Pretorius and Zander Erasmus scored tries for Springs.

Club chairperson Paul Charloton said the matches were tough but they became a better team.
“Man of the match was Zander Erasmus with 21 points scored in the game. Springs second side beat Vereeniging 20-19 with Nico Colyn scoring the winning points with a penalty in the dying minutes of the game. Tries were scored by Wimpie Hamman and Nico Colyn,” said Charlton.

During the first side’s match, the team went into halftime 9-0 down. The second half saw Springs jump into gear and they went on to beat Vereeniging 39-28.
“Tries were scored by Leon Potgieter, Armand Jordaan, CJ Strous, Francios Prinsloo and Thinus Ueckerman. The other point came from the boot of Andre Smit. Man of the match was shared by CJ Strous and Thinus Uekerman,” he said.
The open day for U6 and U8 will be held on June 13 at Springs Rugby Club at 18:00, while the U9 to U13 will be held on June 20 at 18:00.
