New exhibition at Springs Art Gallery

The group art exhibition features original work of 25 artists commissioned by The Arts Company Soweto (TACS).

The Springs Art Gallery (SAG) is pleased to present the Print Portfolio Exchange Exhibition, Ekurhuleni Edition.
“The group art exhibition features original work of 25 artists commissioned by The Arts Company Soweto (TACS).
“The exhibition forms part of post-support intervention offered to beneficiaries of SRAC programmes. It is created through a collaboration between the Visual Arts and Galleries Section in the sport, recreation, arts and culture (SRAC) department of the City of Ekurhuleni,” explained Thabo Sekoaila, curator of visual arts in Ekurhuleni.
He said a portfolio exchange is a collection of prints, usually addressing a common theme, with consistent size restrictions and edition size.
“The portfolio exchange is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for participants to have their work displayed in public and private collections over the world.
“TACS invited 25 artists to participate in the call for such an exchange portfolio.
“The portfolio carries uniqueness as it first focused on non-printmakers and a few printmakers.
“Therefore, allowing a shared value among the artist for an opportunity to share/exchange with each other,” said Sekoaila.
