Dance for a better you

“I started the company in May 2021, but only moved to this studio in August. It was during the first hard lockdown and we had to shut down our previous studio."

L’evation Fitness is ready to help you dance your butt off.

“I started the company in May 2021, but only moved to this studio in August. It was during the first hard lockdown and we had to shut down our previous studio. I felt like I was going to die without dancing,” said owner and coach Lerato Potgieter.

Potgieter said she created the classes for anyone of any age who has a love for movement and fitness.

“It is a good alternative to working out in the gym as it improves muscle tone. It is a great way to meet people and form lasting bonds.

“And I believe it can help improve general well-being. In some people, I have seen how it helps to boost their confidence,” she added.

Potgieter holds a National Diploma in Dance from Tshwane University of Technology.

“I studied ballet, contemporary, jazz, African and tap dance,” she said.

Some of the highlights of her career have been working with very well-known names in the entertainment industry such as Sandy Richardson Dyer, Somizi Mhlongo, Zia (Gilroy) James, Andrew Webster and Owen Lonzer.

“Honestly every show, super big and super small, has been a highlight. I just love dancing.”

The studio is open for dance classes every Wednesday at 16:00 at the Spar building in Selcourt.

Potgieter also offers yoga lessons and personal training. For more information, contact her on 061 185 6886.
