Ka-ttitude celebrated its sixth year with an ‘Al Catapone’ inspired get-together.
The NPO has had its fair share of challenges.
“In some ways, we are worse off than when we started.
“Because of the economic impact of Covid 19, many people are dumping their cats.
“This results in more feral cats in the area,” explained Tanya Kitching from Ka-ttitude.
She admits that there is no clear way of curbing the increase of feral cats.
“People also need to remember that a cat can conceive every three months.
“She can then give birth to between one and nine kittens each time.
“That is why it is so important for us to sterilise them,” she said.

They have sterilised nearly 4 000 cats, with the help of Dr Thulani at the Selcourt Veterinary Hospital.
The cats are trapped and then taken to the vet for sterilisation.
The group’s work includes feeding feral cats as well.
“Our food bill comes up to R18 000 each month,” she added.
The organisation often tends to other medical needs of the cats they find.
Ka-ttitude will host a golf day fundraiser on July 29.
Any individuals or companies interested in participating may call Mandy on 082 898 5105 or Tanya Kitching on 082 860 2971.
They will also have a cake sale on Saturday, from 08:00 until 11:00, at Selcourt Veterinary Hospital.
