Treasure hunt fundraiser to help church expand

All proceeds from the event on September 10 will go to the church.

Full Gospel Church Bakerton will be hosting a treasure hunt fundraising fun day at Bakerton Primary School on September 10 in aid of completing the church building and its multi-purpose centre.
The congregation’s pastor Rae-Jeane Hartzenburg said the building project and the need to expand have been part of their goals as the church for a while.
“Currently our Sunday school children are gathering outside and we feel they also need to be accommodated,” said Hartzenburg.
He said the project, which started in 2021, is approaching the first phase.
“We will also be using the extra space to build a multi-purpose centre for a nursery, aftercare and also a hall that may be used by the community,” he added.

The fundraiser will feature lots of fun activity as there will be an amazing race with hidden prize tokens in which people can participate.
“The ultimate prize to be won on the day is a sponsored two-day stay at a hotel and a five-day cruise on the MSC Orchestra,” said Hartzenburg.
People can also expect to be entertained with live performances by Indian traditional dancers and singers, a karate demonstration and prepared items by the youth groups.
All proceeds from the fundraising will go towards the church.
Market stalls will be available. To book a stall or to donate towards the building project contact Shirley Govender on 062 145 2301 or Sarah Govender on 072 109 5832.
