Daredevil run is back
Will Gauteng be the province that raises the most funds and who dares the most on September 30?

The annual Hollard Daredevil Run is taking place on September 30.
Men and boys, dressed only in purple speedos, will be running 5km through neighbourhoods across the country to raise awareness about testicular and prostate cancer.
The challenge is on to see which province has the most participants at this year’s run.
Awareness about cancer can save lives. Screening for prostate cancer can mean early detection and treatment before cancer spreads to other areas of the body.
With one in six men being diagnosed with prostate cancer during their lifetime and with black African men being at a higher risk of getting it than any other race group (some research suggests the risk may be close to one in four for this group), awareness about men’s cancer is vital.

While rarer than prostate cancer, testicular cancer is the most common cancer affecting males between the ages of 15 and 35.
With early detection, and a monthly testicular self-examination, this disease can have a high cure rate.
This year’s Hollard Daredevil Run will be the biggest and broadest since it started 13 years ago. No matter your shape, size, age or fitness level, get out of your comfort zone and raise money and awareness, all while having a lot of fun.
All proceeds from the Hollard Daredevil Run go to CANSA and the Prostate Cancer Foundation of South Africa to fund free testing for men in under-resourced areas, as well as towards patient support and research.
Whether it is with your friends, running club, colleagues, gym buddies, schoolmates or even by yourself, just run cancer out of your hood.
Entries cost R160 each and include your race pack and purple speedo which will be couriered directly to you.
