Senior citizens to unleash creativity in hat competition
Fun prizes to be won for the most creative and colourful hat at this years hat competition.
Senior Citizens Group from the Jesus is Light Church will be hosting their annual hat competition on September 24 in Dersley Park.
The annual competition allows senior citizens to unleash their creativity by designing hats.
“Each citizen can use anything available from their homes to make the hats, as long as it doesn’t cost them money,” said organising committee member, Louise Oberholster.
“It’s a great gesture to be able to entertain senior citizens once in a while as most of us only rely on our monthly pension funds,” she said.

This year only 30 senior citizens will be participating in the hat competition.
Various items that include a snack hamper, haircut vouchers and other hampers are some of the prizes to be won by participants.
